EWG Praises SC Johnson’s ‘Groundbreaking’ Disclosure of Allergens
WASHINGTON – With today’s announcement by SC Johnson that it will disclose the presence of hundreds of potential skin allergens that could be found in its products, the the family-owned company continues its role as an industry leader in the area of transparency, said EWG President Ken Cook.
“This is a groundbreaking disclosure of allergens in cleaning products from SC Johnson,” Cook said. “By taking these steps, SC Johnson will help millions of consumers be smarter about chemicals in cleaning products that have the potential to causes allergic skin responses.”

Beginning today, the company will provide a list of 368 fragrance and non-fragrance skin allergens on its website, WhatsInsideSCJohnson.com, that could be found in various SC Johnson products.

In 2012, EWG launched its Guide to Healthy Cleaning that gives consumers practical solutions to protect themselves and their families from everyday exposures to potentially harmful chemicals.
