Chlorpyrifos is an organophosphate pesticide that has been widely used, but in 2021, application on food crops was banned by the EPA. Exposure to chlorpyrifos during pregnancy and early life harms the developing brain, including reduced IQ, delayed development of motor and sensory functions, and social and behavioral dysfunction.
