Perfluorohexane sulfonate (PFHXS)

Sea Breeze Water District

NOTE: Sea Breeze Water District purchases water from Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA) which is required to test for perfluorohexane sulfonate (pfhxs). Sample information shown below was taken by Monroe County Water Authority (MCWA).

Perfluorohexane sulfonate is a member of a group of perfluorinated chemicals used in many consumer products. Perfluorinated chemicals can cause serious health effects, including cancer, endocrine disruption, accelerated puberty, liver and immune system damage, and thyroid changes.
