Trifluralin is a herbicide that is used on food crops and non-agricultural lands. It was banned in Europe in the late 2000s, primarily due to its ecological toxicity.

The EWG Health Guideline of 4 ppb for trifluralin was defined by the Environmental Protection Agency as a one-in-a-million lifetime risk of cancer. Values greater than one-in-a-million cancer risk level can result in increased cancer cases above one in a million people.
