Bill Walker works with scientists and researchers at EWG to develop, write and edit reports. He has four decades of experience as a journalist and activist. After working in journalism as a national and international correspondent, he joined the environmental movement as a press officer for Greenpeace, and later as communications director for the California League of Conservation Voters. In 1996, Walker opened EWG’s California office, building a team that generated headline-making reports on toxic chemicals, pesticides, water subsidies and more. After more than a decade, he left to be a consultant for groups, including Friends of the Earth, Earthworks and The Story of Stuff, but returned to EWG in 2015.
