EWG fights for effective chemicals safety reforms

EWG tackled the chemical industry-backed Chemical Safety Improvement Act. EWG President Ken Cook would testify against the bill at a July hearing of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and executive director Heather White would testify in a similar vein before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. EWG delivered a letter citing the bill’s flaws that was signed by more than 30 law professors and legal experts.
