Directions from packaging:
Turn collar in direction of arrow (clockwise) to select desired finish. Avoid turning backwards (counter-clockwise). Tip brush downward and shake to start flow of powder. (To avoid excess powder, return to "off" position.) When finished, return to "off" position to stop flow of powder. For a matte finish: twist the barrel to "Matte" to release the perfect amount of mattifying powder. Target powder in oil-prone areas. For a luminous finish: twist the barrel to "Luminous". Target cheekbones, bridge of nose, and chin to give skin added radiance. For the best of both: twist the barrel to "Mix" and apply where desired.
