1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9-OCDD (octadioxin) was found in 10 of 10 umbilical cord blood samples from babies born in U.S. hospitals in 2004, at concentrations ranging from 19.9 to 55.0 pg/g (lipid weight, in whole blood). It was also found in 3 of 3 adult blood samples, at concentrations ranging from 229.8 to 784.3 pg/g (lipid weight, in whole blood).

In dioxin family of chemicals - pollutants from PVC production, industrial bleaching, incineration; cause cancer, may harm hormone system.
