  PFHpA (Perfluoroheptanoic acid)

PFHpA (Perfluoroheptanoic acid) was found in 8 of 10 umbilical cord blood samples from babies born in U.S. hospitals in 2004, at concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 ng/g (wet weight, in whole blood). It was also found in 3 of 3 adult blood samples, at concentrations ranging from 0.0 to 0.2 ng/g (wet weight, in whole blood).

Breakdown product of stain- and grease-proof coatings on food packaging, couches, carpets. A 7-carbon version of PFOA; persistent.
