Genetically Engineered Crops Aren't Improving Yields
Genetically engineered crops were sold as a way to feed a growing world by improving crop yields. So far, they’re falling short.
EWG’s Emily Cassidy writes:
"Advocates of genetically engineered crops claim they will help us “feed the world” by improving crop yields. But is there any actual evidence that GE crops have actually delivered better yields than conventional breeding techniques?
Not only aren’t GE crops improving yields, they’re also increasing the use of harmful herbicides like Monsanto’s Round-Up.”
