Policy Plate: Reject Farm Bill Bait and Switch
The farm bill drafts proposed by both House and Senate Agriculture committees this week would cut funding for the hungry and the environment by boosting subsidies for the largest and most successful farm businesses.
That’s despite the fact that farm income is near record highs, America’s rivers are polluted with fertilizers and pesticides, and that 47 million Americans depend on programs like SNAP.
