Some Sunscreens get Low Grades

NEW YORK (KGO) -- A new study gave brand-name sunscreens a low grade. The watchdog organization Environmental Working Group gave the industry a C- in its annual sunscreen guide. It says sunscreen companies are not doing enough to protect consumers from UV-A radiation. Scientists tested nearly 1,000 brand name products. Industry officials say the report is flawed. So, what should you look for when buying sunscreen? "Make sure that you use a sunscreen with UVA and UVB Protection and an SPF of 15-30 or higher. Make sure its UVA and broad spectrum," said dermatologist Dr. Doris Day.
