Pesticides II: EWG Names Most Contaminated Produce

Peaches, strawberries, nectarines and apples top the list of produce most contaminated by pesticides, according to an Environmental Working Group report released today...
The group based the report on data from 100,000 pesticide tests that the Agriculture Department and Food and Drug Administration conducted from 1997 to 2001. The tests track 192 different pesticides on 46 fruits and vegetables. EWG used six measures for contamination, including percentage of fruits or vegetables with detectable pesticides, level of all pesticides found and the average number of pesticides detected on each sample...
