Americans are eating their weight and more in genetically engineered food every year, a new Environmental Working Group analysis of recent government data shows. EWG calculates that people eat an average of 193 pounds of genetically engineered food over a 12-month period. That’s more than the typical U.S. adult weight of 179 pounds.

In a dramatic illustration of why it is essential that makers of cleaning products fully disclose their ingredients on product labels, the release of Environmental Working Group’s Guide to Healthy Cleaning has resulted in the revelation that more than half of a line of cleaners marketed to parents of babies contain an ingredient that releases formaldehyde, a known human carcinogen.
