FDA Now Says Eating Fish Is Good For Pregnant Women, Kids

Published December 15, 2008

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is changing their stance as they now believe eating fish may be good for both pregnant women and children. For a long time now the FDA has had the stance that eating fish is not good for pregnant women and young kids. The reason behind this was due to high levels of mercury which can cause medical issues. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has put out a draft of an upcoming FDA report though which shows that they now believe it may be safe for them to consume fish. The FDA has found that the vitamins and such provide great benefits for pregnant women and kids, and may not be so bad after all.
