Enviro urges Minn. agency to conduct more tests for C8, PFOS water contamination

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency should do more well testing for Teflon component C8 and Scotchgard-related chemical PFOS near 3M plants that used the chemicals, an environmental group said this week. Environmental Working Group Vice President Jane Houlihan sent a letter to MCPA Commissioner Sheryl Corrigan requesting the testing. "Given the persistence and toxicity of this chemical, we strongly urge you to initiate the testing programs your staff have requested in order to learn if other at-risk water supplies are contaminated," said Houlihan...
