Environmental groups said perfluorinated acids could be even more harmful than substances such as PCBs and DDT because the acids do not degrade. Richard Wiles, vice president of the Environmental Working Group, said the EPA's preliminary risk assessment "shows potential major reproductive problems with a chemical that is everywhere, in everyone and will never break down"...
