Chemical fear sticks to more than just Teflon

In my ongoing attempt to shield my toddler from chemical pollution, I've been debating whether to throw out the most useful thing in the kitchen: non-stick skillets and pans. I used to think that slippery Teflon cookware was one of the best perks of living in a high-tech society. I can't imagine watching my husband cook without it.
