We are seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time (20 hours), unpaid internship that will assist in creating and implementing a successful public affairs strategy. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of media outreach in a non-profit by gaining knowledge about the unique strategy employed by our Public Affairs Department.

Responsibilities: 

Public Affairs/Media Support:

  • Draft internal media reports to track the dissemination of EWG’s analyses through mainstream and independent outlets.
  • Summarize media coverage and compile reputable quotes citing EWG.
  • Manage physical media files.
  • Gather website, blog, and media statistics for our monitoring and tracking system.
  • Update press readers for all of EWG’s topics; set up new readers as needed.
  • Provide support as needed for EWG’s blog efforts.
  • Help identify appropriate media.

  • Exceptional organization and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Passion about environmental issues.

We are looking for college Junior/ Senior or graduate student with major in public relations, journalism or communications. You must be responsible, able to multitask, goal oriented and a team player with positive outlook on life.

Summer Term (mid/late May through August): Deadline March 31st - Unpaid

Fall Term (September through late December): Deadline August 15th - Unpaid

Spring Term (mid January through mid May): Deadline November 19th - Unpaid
