Internship - Natural Resources

Internship - Natural Resources

Is Internship:
Yes
Paid Internship:
No

Environmental Working Group seeks an intern to help protect Western public lands from reckless oil and gas drilling and to promote agriculture and biofuels policies that safeguard water, soil and wildlife. Last year, our interns helped author a report on toxic oil and gas drilling chemicals that received coverage on National Public Radio among other outlets, wrote an op-ed piece that was published in two newspapers in upstate New York, attended Congressional hearings and drafted memos for Congressional staff. We anticipate another busy and rewarding internship this year.

EWG's intern will assist on several projects including a continued investigation of hydraulic fracturing, a natural gas and oil drilling technique that injects wells with up to eight million gallons of water, unknown toxic chemicals and sand in order to increase production.  The intern will also contribute to our work on biofuels and farm policy that focuses in part on shifting away from corn ethanol and toward more sensible energy solutions.
