Development Administrative Assistant

Digital Media Manager

EWG is seeking a seasoned professional to oversee and execute a digital media strategy that adapts the organization to a digitally savvy, online and on-the-go news environment. This position will be responsible for creating compelling visual content including videos, photographs, graphics and other images for EWG’s website, blog and social media properties.

Ruby on Rails Developer

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a national, non-partisan organization that uses the power of information to protect the environment and human health. EWG seeks a detail-oriented, creative, deadline-driven applications programmer to assist with development of ewg.org and our other web sites. This full-time position is based in our Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Internship - Donor Management Intern – DC Office

Environmental Working Group (EWG) is searching for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented student for a paid part-time summer and fall internship with the Development team – particularly our donor management programs – in our Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate would be detail oriented, a strong writer/proofreader and have an interest in online fundraising and organizing for a non-profit.

Internship – Consumer Database Research – California Office

EWG is seeking a part-time intern for its Oakland, CA office.

The Consumer Database Intern will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting the Research team to maintain online consumer product databases for which EWG is recognized. They will enter and review data on consumer product ingredients and hazards, among other essential research tasks involved in publishing solid information on safer products for consumers.

Internship - Public Affairs/Media Support Intern

We are seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time (20 hours), unpaid internship that will assist in creating and implementing a successful public affairs strategy. This internship will provide an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of media outreach in a non-profit by gaining knowledge about the unique strategy employed by our Public Affairs Department.

Internship - Government Affairs

EWG seeks an intern interested in public policy and environmental health issues to join our government affairs team. We conduct original research – poring over government data, legal documents, and scientific studies– to expose threats to health and the environment, and to find solutions.

The Government Affairs Intern will help shape policy that will protect public health and the environment on a broad range of issues. The intern will assist the many of EWG’s projects. Issues include:

Internship - General Research

EWG’s Research Intern will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting the Research team to construct online consumer product databases for which EWG is recognized. They will enter and review data on consumer product ingredients and hazards, among other essential research tasks involved in publishing solid information on safer products for consumers.

The Research Intern will both see how a project develops from an idea to completion, and get first-hand experience of the inner workings of a successful not-for-profit organization.
